Spyderco Endura 4 Trainer Knife

Trainers or drones are non-sharpened knives that allow for the safe practice of Martial Blade Craft (MBC). They let the user learn deployment/retrieval techniques, perform drills, and develop confidence and muscle memory without risking cutting themselves or others with a sharp blade. The Endura Trainer is identical in weight and size to the 'live' model. To enhance the balance of the piece we've tapered the unsharpened tip and drilled holes through the blade, removing unnecessary bulk. Volcano grip texturing on both sides of the handle put the brakes on your hand slipping while training. All Spyderco training models have red handles designating them as non-sharpened. Tip-up carry. *Endura trainers also fit the bill as a unsharpened practice knife to safely teach non-knife people the fundamental movements in safely opening and closing a folder.

Spyderco Delica 4 "Wave" Knife

If knives could be created in the same way we choose players for fantasy football league teams, every hardcore knife knut would recruit features and characteristics they like best from different knife companies and combine them into their favorite knife. Spyderco will undoubtedly fulfill many knife knuts knife fantasy picks with the introduction of the Waved Delica and Endura. Waved models combine all that’s functional and performance-based in a Spyderco folder with the Wave Blade-Opening feature made popular and patented by Ernest Emerson of Emerson Knives. The Wave is a hook curving out the top of the knife’s blade. When removing the knife from a front pocket the Wave catches the pocket’s edge quickly opening the knife blade ready to use. The knife can also be taken out of the pocket without engaging the Wave Opening Feature by pulling it straight up and out with your fingers on top of the closed blade. Waved Delicas and Enduras have screw construction making cleaning and adjusting easier. Their gray fiberglass reinforced nylon handles are molded with Bi-Directional Texturing® for traction and improved ergonomics. Inside the handle dual skeletonized stainless steel liners strengthen the knife without additional weight and create an anchor for external and internal components to attach through for more sturdiness and rigidity. Their VG-10 blades are flat saber-ground with a stronger tip and larger 13mm opening hole. Added to the blade’s spine is slip resistant jimping. Phosphor bronze washers smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed clip.

Spyderco Delica 4 FRN Lightweight Knife

Spyderco Delica 4 FRN Lightweight Knife

In 1990 Spyderco shook things up by introducing two knives, the Delica and Endura. First of their kind on the market, both folders opened up the knife market to lightweight performance, one-hand open pocketknives that just about everyone could afford. They settled as Spyderco’s top two bestsellers and their improvement hasn’t slowed since. Refinement has been so ongoing and continual Spyderco tagged the updating/upgrading process with the term CQI- Constant Quality Improvement. During the Endura and Delica’s CQI journey Spyderco tweaked ergonomics, refined blade steels and fine-tuned their performance countless times. They are an evolutionary work in progress and the next level is here with the new Endura4 and Delica4. Both models now have screw construction making cleaning and adjusting easier. The fiberglass reinforced nylon handles come molded with Bi-Directional Texturing® for preferred traction and improved ergonomics. Inside the handle dual skeletonized stainless steel liners make the knife stronger without adding weight and make an anchor for all external and internal components to attach through adding sturdiness and rigidity. Their VG-10 blades are flat saber-ground with a stronger tip and larger 13mm opening hole. Added to the blade’s spine is slip resistant jimping. Phosphor bronze bushings smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed clip.

Spyderco Delica 4 Trainer Knife

Martial artists and MBC practitioners all follow one cardinal rule, safe practice and training. Learning drills, actions and reactions with an unsharpened training blade allows you comfortable and realistic practice without the consequences of meeting a sharpened edge. The Delica trainer has the same features as its live counterpart -- minus the sharpened cutting edge. Holes drilled out of the blade and an upswept tip, take away a small amount of weight and make the piece balanced in the hand. Stopping the knife from slipping and sliding, the handle is deeply textured in Spyderco's volcano grip pattern. By making the FRN handle red, it's designated and easily recognizable as a training model. The black metal clip is ambidextrous and positions the knife in the pocket tip-up.

Spyderco Byrd Stainless Steel Cara Cara Knife

Spyderco Byrd Stainless Steel Cara Cara Knife

Just as Spyderco is associated with a spider, byrd Knives resemble various species in the avian world. The Cara Cara is byrd line's newest offering, presenting a cost effective alternative to Spyderco's main CLIPIT-line of high-performance knives that stand independently on their own design, performance merits and high-level of manufacturing. Categorized as a mid-sized all steel folder, the BY03 brings together high-performance features with solid dollar value. The hollow-ground 440C or 8Cr13MoV blade comes plain edged (toothless) or in a combination plain edge/serrated edge. Shaped like a "comet" the hole in the blade symbolizes both quality and tight tolerances adhered to in manufacturing. Capping the blade's spine is a series of crosshatching, which grip the thumb for slip-free cutting. Available in a right-hand configuration, the clip on the handle positions the knife tip-up or tip-down, attaching inside a pant's pocket. When gripped, the ergonomic stainless steel handle becomes a precision cutting extension of the hand. Cut from the lock's release is a David Boye Dent, a safety feature that allows tightly gripping the handle without accidentally releasing the lock.

  • Length overall 8 5/8" (219 mm)
  • Blade length 3 7/8" (98 mm)
  • Blade steel 440C or 8Cr13MoV
  • Length closed 4 3/4" (121 mm)

Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara G-10 Knife

Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara G-10 Knife

In the world of pocketknives G-10 has super-hero status as a handle material. It’s a woven epoxy filled laminate that’s grippy in the hand, is nearly indestructible, repels moisture and chemicals and won’t retain heat or cold. The mid-sized Cara Cara folder is one of two of the byrd line’s first laminate handle offering. Featuring a hollow-ground blade made from high-carbon 8Cr13MoV stainless steel that’s available with a plain edge or combination plain edge/serrated cutting edge. The comet shaped hole in the blade is found on all byrd knives and symbolizes quality and tight manufacturing tolerances and allows the knife to be opened one handedly. Keeping the knife slip-free in the hand while cutting is a section of crosshatched texturing on the blade’s spine called jimping. The G-10 Cara Cara is right-handed with pre-drilled holes in the handle so the pocket clip can be positioned to carry either tip-up or tip-down. Further augmenting the folder’s rigidity and strength are full-length stainless steel liners set inside the handle. Offering a tasteful touch of embellishing, filework runs the length of the handle’s spine. A David Boye Dent in the lock’s release lever lets you muscle down on the lock without the worry of disengaging the blade unintentionally.

  • Blade is 3 7/8" long.
  • Overall length is 8 5/8" long.
  • Weight is 5.6 oz.
  • Blade is made from 8Cr13MoV metal.
  • Handle is fashioned from G-10 epoxy filled laminate.
